A State College woman is headed to to jail for assaulting her 93-year-old mother.
Paula Zuchowski was sentenced Thursday to serve 60 days to 23-and-one-half-months in the Centre County Correctional Facility.
A judge also ordered Zuchowski to pay more than $11,000 in restitution.
Zuchowski had earlier pleaded guilty to simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
According to prosecutors, there were two incidents in July of last year. In the first, Zuchowski became angry with her elderly mother and bit the woman on the shoulder.
The mother later fell in the basement and Zuchowski dragged her up the stairs. Prosecutors say the mother was bleeding profusely.
Instead of calling for help Zuchowski reportedly told police she put her mother in a stair chair to take her to a bathroom on the second floor. When the mother fell out of the chair, Zuchowski dragged her the rest of the way up the stairs.
Prosecutors say the mother suffered severe bruising and skin tears.
