Penn State men’s basketball is set to challenge Georgia Tech at Madison Square Garden in December.
The Nittany Lions and Yellow Jackets will meet at noon on Saturday, Dec, 16 in New York City as part of a Holiday Festival tripleheader at the Garden, the team announced Tuesday. The game will air on the Big Ten Network.
It will mark Penn State’s first game at “The World’s Most Famous Arena” since winning the 2018 NIT championship.
Penn State adds Georgia Tech to a non-conference slate which includes the ESPN Events Invitational and eight total out-of-conference regular-season matchups.
The Nittany Lions are 3-1 against the Yellow Jackets, but the two teams have not met since November 2016. In their most recent matchup, the Nittany Lions defeated Georgia Tech 67-60 and split games in 2006 and 2008.
Tickets for this year’s matchup have yet to hit the market. Those planning to attend the Holiday Festival can also watch St. John’s take on Fordham and the St. John’s women’s team battle Villanova.
