Defensive end Jordan Mayer is no longer with Penn State.

After two seasons with the program, Mayer has been removed from the team’s online roster, indicating his departure. Reports began circling following Saturday’s Blue-White Practice, when Mayer wasn’t included on the roster given to members of the media. Mark Brennan of Lions247 was first to confirm the move.

Mayer, a former three-star recruit, committed to Wisconsin where he spent his freshman season. After seeing no action, Mayer transferred to the Nittany Lions, where he appeared in all 16 games in 2024, primarily on special teams. Mayer totaled two tackles and 1.5 sacks.

An injury sidelined Mayer for the entire 2025 campaign, and it was unlikely he would’ve seen significant time this fall in a deep defensive end room. With the transfer portal window already closed, this may mark the end of Mayer’s college career.
