Penn State fans will have to fire up their streaming device of choice this weekend as the Nittany Lions are set to play Delaware on Peacock, the exclusive streaming service of NBC. The game is set for a noon kick from Beaver Stadium with the Nittany Lions looking to improve to 2-0 on the year. Local NBC affiliates will not carry the game on TV.
In some cases Peacock is available through your television provider but is generally a pay service available for $5.99 per month with the ability to cancel at any time for no cost. Sign up information can be found here.
Saturday’s game will mark the first time since a 2003 clash against Kent State that the game will not be televised or otherwise available on traditional television networks. Fans who do make the brief jump to Peacock will be treated to a familiar faces as former Michael Robinson is set to do the color commentary alongside Brendan Burke. Robinson is a longtime contributor to the NFL Network who is now an analyst for NBC Sports’ college football broadcasts.
The switch of Peacock comes following the Big Ten’s latest rights deal with NBC. In 2024, fans could very well have to deal with a different streaming service as the league’s rights deal with CBS could see games available on that network’s own streaming-only service, Paramount+.
Whatever the case might be Penn State fans can take heart in knowing no other game this season will be available exclusively on Peacock or any other exclusive streaming service.
