It’s unclear if part of Penn State’s pitch to get Ohio State receiver and former Nittany Lions recruiting target Julian Fleming to come to State College involved a promise of being able to put a sledgehammer through the windshield of a car and running it over with a jeep —but one imagines it was certainly a perk. Fleming, pictured below, has quickly burst onto the local television scene with a commercial with Blaise Alexander of Lewisburg in an advertisement which features no shortage of vehicular destruction.
The commercial is if nothing else, an exercise in how Name Image and Likeness contributes to the overall dynamics of players changing programs in the transfer portal. While Fleming may have come to Penn State for reasons like a bigger role in an offense and a previous relationship with James Franklin, it doesn’t seem like a mistake the former five-star just so happened to pop up on TV within a month of stepping on campus.
Of course Fleming’s impact when he steps on the field will dictate not only how many more cars he might get to crush in the future, but how many of his own he might be able to buy with the windshield intact.
