Penn State football kicked off the month of May with another recruiting win.

The Nittany Lions on Friday morning added a commitment from three-star, class of 2027 wide receiver Jamir Dean. Dean ranks as the No. 18 Tennessee native, No. 54 wide receiver and No. 433 overall prospect in the class, per the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s a two-way player at Alcoa High School and also participates in basketball and track and field.

Dean picked up a Penn State offer on Feb. 20 after wide receivers coach Noah Pauley had left for the Green Bay Packers and four days before Kashif Moore was officially hired for the position. He took an unofficial visit to campus a week ago to meet with the staff. He also has an official visit scheduled for June, along with official visits to Mississippi State, Wake Forest and UConn.

With the commitment, the Nittany Lions are up to 14 members in the class, including two wide receivers. They reclaimed the No. 6 ranking nationally, passing Notre Dame, and remain at No. 4 in the Big Ten, per the 247Sports composite.
