Penn State football got some good news to close out the weekend.

The Nittany Lions on Sunday evening received a commitment from four-star linebacker Case Alexander, he announced on social media. Alexander ranks as the No. 7 Oklahoma native, No. 22 linebacker and No. 266 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.

Alexander is listed at 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds and also plays basketball and runs track in addition to football. Last fall as a junior at Washington High School, he accumulated 88 tackles, including 10 for loss, and five sacks. In his three-year career, he’s amassed 276 tackles, 28 TFLs and eight sacks with four forced fumbles.

Oklahoma, Kansas State and Texas Tech were considered finalists for Alexander’s commitment, and he also held offers from Michigan, Iowa State, SMU, TCU and others. He made multiple visits to Penn State, but also took trips with the Sooners, Cyclones, Wildcats and Red Raiders throughout the process.

Case’s brother, tight end Cooper Alexander, transferred from Iowa State to Penn State this offseason, reuniting them in Happy Valley. Cooper caught five receptions for 47 yards last season as a redshirt freshman.

With the commitment, the Nittany Lions have 21 players and two linebackers in their 2027 class, which climbed up to No. 14 nationally and No. 3 in the Big Ten, per 247Sports.
