The Nittany Lions are picking up steam on the recruiting trail.
Penn State landed commitments from a pair of three-star, class of 2026 safeties, Bryson Williams and Tyrell Chatman. Williams committed on Saturday, while Chatman announced the move on Sunday afternoon.
Both recruits were formerly committed to Iowa State but have opted to follow head coach Matt Campbell to State College. Campbell brought in secondary coach Deon Broomfield from the Cyclones, which likely played a role in the flips.
Williams is ranked as the No. 6 Nebraska prospect, No. 81 safety and No. 905 overall recruit in the class, while Chatman is the No. 3 recruit in Nebraska, No. 50 safety and No. 679 overall recruit. Williams also picked up offers from Purdue and Minnesota in the four days between decommitting from the Cyclones and committing to the Nittany Lions.
They join three other commits in the class, including three-star punter Lucas Tenbrock, four-star quarterback Peyton Falzone and four-star edge rusher Jackson Ford. The unit ranks No. 139 nationally, per the 247Sports composite, though there’s plenty of room to climb with more former Cyclones expected to join.
