The Nittany Lions’ 2026 recruiting class is slowly climbing out of the cellar.
Penn State earned commitments from offensive linemen Pete Eglitis and Mason Bandhauer within an hour of each other on Tuesday night. Both are former members of Iowa State’s 2026 recruiting class.
Eglitis, a three-star recruit, ranks as the No. 78 Ohio prospect, No. 137 offensive tackle and No. 1,612 overall player in the class, per the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s a native of Columbus, Ohio, and had interest from schools like Louisville, Pitt and Georgia Tech during his initial recruitment.
Bandhauer, also a three-star, ranks as the No. 10 Colorado prospect, No. 61 offensive tackle and No. 680 overall recruit in the cycle. He received offers from Nebraska, Kansas, Kansas State and others during his initial recruiting process and was once projected to land with the Cornhuskers.
They’ll follow head coach Matt Campbell and offensive line coach Ryan Clanton from Ames to State College, joining five other former Iowa State signees. Penn State’s 2026 class is now up to eight members and ranks No. 126 nationally, still dead last in the Big Ten but climbing after losing most of its recruits following the firing of James Franklin.
