Penn State Athletics Unveils New Student Football Season Ticket Lottery System

Gone are the days of Ticketmaster. 

Penn State Athletics revealed on Tuesday afternoon that it will change its Penn State student football season ticket process “in an effort to offer an equal opportunity for all eligible students to access tickets.”

According to a press release, Penn State Athletics is shifting transitioning to a lottery process which will allow students more time to request season tickets. Students aiming to purchase tickets will have a week to request season football tickets following years of student season tickets selling out in under 30 minutes on a single day on Ticketmaster. That sale historically took place early in the morning.

The cost of the seven-game ticket package will remain $246 and all eligibility requirements for student season tickets have not changed. More details on student season ticket requirements like credit hours and student status can be found here. 

While the sale originally took place on Ticketmaster, requests will now be held on Penn State’s Student Account Manager. 

The “request windows” for student season tickets for each grade are as follows:

• Graduate Students: Monday, June 10 to Monday, June 17
• Seniors: Tuesday, June 11 to Tuesday, June 18
• Juniors: Wednesday, June 12 to Wednesday, June 19
• Sophomores: Thursday, June 13 to Thursday, June 20
• Freshmen: Friday, June 14 to Friday, June 21

Each ticket request window will begin at 8 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. Students will be notified by email the week of June 24 if their request was selected by the lottery system. Penn State football’s 2024 schedule is listed here, and the Nittany Lions will host Bowling Green, Kent State, Illinois, UCLA, Ohio State, Washington and Maryland in Beaver Stadium.
