Penn State’s 2026 coaching staff appears to be finalized — again.

The Nittany Lions are expected to hire Colorado State’s Kashif Moore as their next wide receivers coach according to multiple reports, including from CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz. Moore had just been hired by the Rams in December as the wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator.

Penn State was left scrambling after Noah Pauley, who followed head coach Matt Campbell from Iowa State, left for a role with the Green Bay Packers weeks ago. That news broke just one day after Pauley met with local reporters for the first time.

Moore is a former wide receiver himself, playing at UConn from 2008-2011 before signing with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent. Moore spent brief stints with the Indianapolis Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs but never saw playing time at the professional level.

He got into coaching in 2019 as an assistant at Conard High School in Connecticut before quickly rising up the ranks. Other stops include Wesleyan wide receivers coach (2020), Cornell running backs coach (2021), Albany wide receivers coach (2022) and UConn wide receivers coach (2022-25).

Moore is credited with developing Skyler Bell, who caught 101 passes for 1,278 yards and 13 touchdowns last season for the Huskies, finishing as a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, given annually to the nation’s top player at the position. Bell is projected as a third-round pick in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.
