Throughout a five-year career at Penn State, Dom DeLuca elevated from a walk-on special teams contributor to a linebacker playing meaningful snaps and earning several starts.
Though he often drew criticism for coverage or tackling skills, DeLuca amassed 164 total tackles, five interceptions, 4.5 sacks and two forced fumbles as a Nittany Lion. He was named a special teams captain three times and recorded two blocked punts.
Per PFF, DeLuca totaled 12 pressures last season, allowed 17 completions on 22 pass attempts for 112 yards and had a missed tackle rate of 14.3%.
The highlight of his tenure in Happy Valley was a pair of interceptions against SMU in the first round of the 2024 College Football Playoff, which the Nittany Lions won 38-10.
DeLuca had local days scheduled with the New York Giants, New York Jets, Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles.
“I’m really just trying to show them I can play, I have the ability to play a lot of special teams and be reliable on defense when needed, just doing anything I could to make a team, really, and just be trying to be that guy,” DeLuca said.
