A little more than a week after making his Penn State debut at the Blue-White Game, highly-touted freshman linebacker Micah Parsons had an even more significant first.
On Tuesday, he became a father.
Parsons tweeted two photos of himself holding a newborn and writing ‘#godsplan welcome to the world 5-1-2018 ðŸ™ðŸ½ðŸ™ðŸ½ blessings all 2018!’
He confirmed in subsequent tweets that he is now a father. Parsons did not reveal the baby’s name or gender.

They were never formally teammates, but Parsons joined another recent Nittany Lion in the new dad club. Saquon Barkley and his girlfriend Anna Congdon welcomed a baby girl on April 26, two days before Barkley was picked No. 2 overall in the NFL Draft by the New York Giants.
A five-star prospect from Harrisburg, Parsons became Penn State’s most highly rated recruit in years and enrolled at the university in January. That came after a long and wild recruiting process that saw him commit to the Nittany Lions in 2016, re-open his commitment in 2017, appear headed to Ohio State for a time, then finally sign with Penn State in January.
“You’re going to have to wait for the book,’ Penn State coach James Franklin said of Parsons’ recruitment. ‘I’ve been doing this for 23 years, and the book will probably be five chapters on my career and 15 chapters on the ups and downs and the journey of Micah Parsons.’
A running back and defensive end in high school, Parsons played at middle linebacker and outside linebacker during Penn State’s spring drills. He had eight tackles, five solo, and a sack in the April 21 Blue-White Game.
