Penn State has struck again on the recruiting trail.
The Nittany Lions continued their hot streak with the addition of three-star, class of 2027 safety Jonathan Galette on Saturday evening. Galette attends St. Joseph’s Regional High School in Montvale, New Jersey, where he ranks as the No. 17 recruit in the state, per the 247Sports composite rankings.
Galette received interest from many other power conference schools, including offers from 11 of 18 Big Ten programs. He made multiple visits to Penn State under the previous staff and was offered by the current staff in December, with position coach Deon Broomfield paying him a visit in January. Galette also scheduled an official visit to Happy Valley for June 12.
He made multiple visits to in-state Rutgers and Wisconsin, and his offer list included Ohio State, USC, Michigan, Tennessee and others. It was clear the Nittany Lions were front-runners based on mutual interest throughout the process, regardless of staff changes.
With Galette’s pledge, Penn State has surged up to nine commitments in the 2027 class, and the group now ranks No. 9 nationally and No. 4 in the Big Ten.
