After two weeks of scrutinized kickoff times and broadcast designations, Penn State will return to the midday slate for its game at Purdue on Nov. 16. That matchup will kick off at 3:30 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast on CBS.
The Nittany Lions’ contest with the Boilermakers will come two weeks after a 20-13 loss against Ohio State, a consequential game that was criticized for being aired at noon. This upcoming Saturday, Penn State will host Washington at 8 p.m. for its annual White Out, but the game will be exclusively streamed on Peacock.
The matchup with Purdue will mark the Nittany Lions’ second game designated to CBS, which also aired the team’s 33-30 overtime win at USC on Oct. 12.
The Boilermakers have struggled tremendously in the second year under head coach Ryan Walters. With a 1-7 record, they are currently dead last in the Big Ten, and their lone win came in a 49-0 season-opening victory over Indiana State.
If he’s able to gain a favorable lead early, James Franklin will likely use this game to get some of his team’s younger, less experienced players involved.
