Penn State got a surprise bump to its 2026 signing class on Wednesday.

What looked to be a miserable day for the Nittany Lions, whose 2026 recruiting class was down to just two members on Early National Signing Day, was quickly turned on its head with an unexpected commitment and signing from four-star Pennsylvania quarterback Peyton Falzone.

Falzone, a native of Nazareth, was once committed to Penn State but flipped to Auburn on June 26, with speculation of a higher NIL package. However, he decommitted from the Tigers on Monday and signed with the Nittany Lions on Wednesday, becoming the second recruit to put pen to paper.

Falzone ranks as the No. 10 Pennsylvania native, No. 22 quarterback and No. 306 overall prospect in the 2026 class and was a participant at the Elite 11, the most prestigious high school quarterback camp in the country.

Four-star edge rusher Jackson Ford is the only other recruit to sign amid instability around the program as it continues to search for a new head coach. Additionally, three-star cornerback Amauri Polydor remains committed but hasn’t signed.
