It’s the halfway point of the 2024 season, which means it’s time for midseason awards. On Wednesday, the Reese’s Senior Bowl announced its Midseason All-American Team, and it includes three Penn State players: running back Nick Singleton, tight end Tyler Warren and safety Jaylen Reed.

Singleton was selected as the second running back alongside Heisman Trophy candidate Ashton Jeanty of Boise State. Singleton, who is also the Nittany Lions’ primary kickoff returner, has tallied 645 all-purpose yards and scored six total touchdowns across five games played this season.

Warren, the likely favorite for the John Mackey Award for the nation’s top tight end, was unsurprisingly listed after a historic performance at USC this past weekend. Against the Trojans, Warren tied an FBS record for receptions by a tight end with 17, and set a Big Ten tight end receiving record with 224 yards.

Warren has been about as versatile as they come in 2024, having also taken snaps at quarterback and center. Through six games, Warren has already accumulated career highs with 40 catches and 513 receiving yards. He also leads Penn State with four receiving touchdowns.

Reed, the lone defensive player selected, hasn’t missed a snap in each of the Nittany Lions’ past two games due to thin depth at safety following what coach James Franklin termed a “long-term” injury to Kevin Winston Jr.

In Winston’s absence, Reed has taken hold of the safety unit, and currently leads Penn State with 39 tackles, while also adding three tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, two pass deflections and a game-saving interception against the Trojans.
