The Centre Area Transportation Authority will offer game day shuttle service for the Penn State men’s hockey team’s first game at Beaver Stadium on Jan. 31.
Shuttle service from the Hills Plaza on South Atherton Street will begin at 10 a.m. ahead of the Nittany Lions’ 1 p.m. puck drop against Michigan State. The shuttle will run throughout the game until one hour after the final buzzer.
Parking to catch the shuttle is permitted only at the rear of Hills Plaza (behind Ollie’s and Giant).
Fare will be $2.50 each way per person, with exact cash fare, tokens or passes accepted. Day passes are also available for $7.00 through the Token Transit app, which can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play. Reduced fare of $1.25 is available for passengers with a valid Medicare card or CATA Reduced Fare Identification Card. Children under 40 inches tall and adults 65 and older with a valid Senior Transit Identification.
Fans can also take the White Loop to Beaver Stadium. The White Loop will operate at full service, with busses arriving approximately every 8 minutes starting at 11:15 a.m. and continuing through the end of the day’s regular bus service. See the route and schedule at catabus.com/route-page/whiteloop.
“CATA is committed to providing transportation alternatives in the Centre Region, and we look forward to being a part of a smooth and enjoyable fan experience for this historic hockey game,” Todd Horsley, CATA CEO, said in a statement. “Between the shuttle service from Hills Plaza and the White Loop, fans will have several options for conveniently getting to the game while reducing traƯic and congestion around Beaver Stadium. It’s a win for fans and for our community.”
