Penn State Selected to Albany Regional in NCAA Men’s Hockey Tournament

Tournament season continues for the Nittany Lions.

Penn State men’s hockey learned its seeding for the upcoming NCAA tournament on Sunday afternoon, setting up a first-round matchup against Minnesota-Duluth in the Albany Regional.  That matchup is slated for 9 p.m. EDT on Friday, March 27 and will be broadcast on ESPN2.

Michigan is the No. 1 overall seed and sits on the other side of the regional bracket, facing off against Bentley in the opening round. That game will come first, with puck drop slated for 5:30 p.m. on ESPNU.

Among those four teams, the winner will advance to the Frozen Four, which will take place in Las Vegas.

Albany Regional

No. 1 Michigan (29-7-1) vs. No 16 Bentley (23-11-5)

No. 8 Penn State (21-13-2) vs. No. 9 Minnesota-Duluth (23-14-1)

Sioux Falls Regional

No. 2 North Dakota (27-9-1) vs. No. 15 Merrimack (21-15-2)

No. 7 Providence (23-10-2) vs. No. 10 Quinnipiac (26-9-3)

Worcester Regional

No. 3 Michigan State (25-8-2) vs. No. 14 UConn (20-12-5)

No. 6 Dartmouth (23-7-4) vs. No. 11 Wisconsin (21-12-2)

Loveland Regional

No. 4 Western Michigan (26-10-1) vs. No. 13 Minnesota State (22-10-7)

No. 5 Denver (25-11-3) vs. No. 12 Cornell (22-10-1)
