Penn State quarterback Drew Allar left the Nittany Lions’ contest against Rutgers on Saturday with an injury sustained during a third quarter run.

Allar was seen walking into Penn State’s medical tent and later on the Nittany Lions’ sideline nursing his right shoulder/chest area while talking to trainers. Backup quarterback Beau Pribula played the remainder of the game in place of Allar, who exited having gone 6-for-13 for 79 yards.

Following Penn State’s 27-6 win over the Scarlet Knights, coach James Franklin offered little insight into Allar’s availability moving forward but did indicate he did not believe the injury to be serious. Franklin is next scheduled to speak with the media on Monday.

Pribula threw just one pass, a 9-yard completion to Tyler Warren, but ran for a game-high 71 yards on eight carries, including a 39-yard burst on his first play of the day, and one touchdown. The Nittany Lions scored a field goal and two touchdowns with Pribula behind center, expanding what was a 10-6 lead at halftime to a 21-point win.
