Penn State defensive lineman Davon Townley has entered the transfer portal, according to 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz, who reported the news on Friday afternoon.

This actually marks the second time Townley has entered the portal, having done so once before while at Penn State in late 2022 before eventually returning to the roster. The NCAA permits student-athletes to return to their initial school of choice once entering the portal, although programs and universities are not required to allow a student-athlete back after entering the portal or honor their scholarship.

The Minneapolis native has seen limited action in his time at Penn State, making just one tackle over the course of the 2023 campaign. The former four-star prospect is a member of Penn State’s 2021 recruiting class.

Townley is just the third Nittany Lion to enter the portal this spring period, joining receivers Malick Meiga and KeAndre Lambert-Smith. Lambert-Smith has since landed at Auburn after a brief courtship by a handful of programs.
