The Big Ten released a revised schedule for the 2021 season, a change that features multiple tweaks to Penn State’s previously released slate of games. In total five different game dates have been changed in addition to the timing of Penn State’s off week.

The Nittany Lions do not see any changes of opponents or locations of previously scheduled games, although the order of the games have been adjusted slightly.

Penn State still still open the season at Wisconsin on Sept. 4 before returning home for the next four weeks faces Ball State, Auburn and Villanova in out of conference contests before taking on Indiana. That game against the Hoosiers was originally scheduled for later in the season. Penn State will then travel to face Iowa on Oct 9 as previously scheduled.

The Nittany Lions will have off the week of Oct. 16 before hosting Illinois on oct 23. Penn State will then travel for road games against Ohio State and then Maryland on Nov. 6. The schedule change here sees the Nittany Lions take on the Buckeyes on Oct. 30, nearly a full month earlier than the previously scheduled Nov. 20 meeting. Penn State was also scheduled to take on Ohio State and Michigan in back-to-back weeks, that is no longer the case.

Penn State will close out the home schedule hosting Michigan and Rutgers before traveling to Michigan State to finish the regular season slate. The Nittany Lions were originally slated to face Rutgers in the final game of the year.

The elevator pitch summary: Penn State gets Ohio State earlier than previously scheduled, but has easier slate surrounding the Buckeyes. Nittany Lions also play four-straight at home after opening at Wisconsin.
