Penn State will open tailgating lots an hour earlier than usual this Saturday before the Nittany Lions take on No. 2 Ohio State at Beaver Stadium.

Lots will open at 6 a.m. — 98 minutes before sunrise — in an effort to help more fans find their spots and their seats ahead of the marquee game of Penn State’s home slate. Kickoff is set for noon with the contest airing on FOX as the network’s Big Noon Saturday featured game of the week. Team arrival is set for roughly 10 a.m. just two hours prior to kick.

Traffic pattens will operate normally until 8:30 on Saturday morning, at which point they will switch over to usual one-way game day traffic around Beaver Stadium. Because of the high-profile game and early kickoff time, longer traffic delays than usual are anticipated after 8:30 a.m., with the heaviest between 9 a.m. and noon.

Penn State enters the contest at 6-1 on the year following a 45-17 victory over Minnesota this past weekend on the tails of the Nittany Lions’ only loss of the year so far, a 41-17 defeat to Michigan in Ann Arbor. Ohio State enters Saturday’s contest the only undefeated team in the nation to have won every game by double-digits.

Following Saturday’s contest Penn State will have two more home games at Beaver Stadium. The Nittany Lions next travel to Indiana to face the Hoosiers in Bloomington. Game time for that contest will be announced Saturday evening or Sunday morning after getting flexed into the six-day window to determine broadcast network and kick time.

No kick times are known for the remainder of Penn State’s schedule following Saturday’s contest.
