Penn State Football: Pedobear Proves Jerry Sandusky Scandal Will Never Subside

While the Penn State Nittany Lions were taking a beating on the field from the University of Houston Cougars in a 30-14 loss, their public relations department and overall school morale were being attacked in the stands.

Meet Pedobear. It’s Texas’ way of commenting on the whole Jerry Sandusky sex scandal on the campus of Penn State.

The Ticketcity Bowl took place two days ago in Dallas, Texas, and by my calculations, that’s closer to Houston than Pennsylvania. Along with a home-field advantage, the Cougars got the advantage of having Pedobear in the stands helping to cheer them on.

Pedobear was holding a Nittany Lions sign, but I’m almost positive it wasn’t very supportive to the school.

A big thanks to Wikipedia for enlightening me to the details of pedophiliac bears:

Pedobear is an Internet meme that became popular through the imageboard 4chan. As the name suggests (“pedo” being short for “pedophile”), it is portrayed as a pedophiliac bear. It is a concept used to mock pedophiles or people who have a sexual interest in minors, and the bear image has been likened to bait used to lure children or as a mascot for pedophiles.

Geez. That bear sounds way worse than normal bears.

In all seriousness, there is nothing in this world that scares me more than the idea of a pedobear. While the people dressed up at this game were having fun, what the bear represents is something horrifically real.

There are far too many pedophiles in this world and while many may scream and cry about this pedobear, it’s bringing more national attention to a topic that needs to be talked about.

Sexual abuse of children may be the lowest crime in the world. Even criminals in prison look down on pedophiles.

As long as the sexual injustices against children continue in this world, Penn State will remain infamous for the actions of one terrible man.
