WINGATE — Bald Eagle Area earned a 3-1 victory over the Lady Rams of Penns Valley on Oct. 19 to solidify an undefeated season for the Lady Eagles. The only blemish on their record was a 1-1 tie earlier in the season to the same Lady Rams.
Georgia Cingle and Emily Shiels both booted in goals for BEA in the match, and the other came off the foot of a Penns Valley player.
Maria Lovallo scored the lone goal in the match for Penns Valley.
BEA now moves into Class AA District 6 play riding an eight-game winning streak.
The top-seeded Lady Eagles will host the eighth-seeded Highlanders of Cambria Heights on Oct. 24. This is the first matchup of the two schools this season. The winner will move on to the semi-finals to battle the victor of (5) Juniata and (4) Huntingdon. That game is scheduled for Oct. 28.
In AAA, the Lady Red Raiders of Bellefonte are set to meet Hollidaysburg in the district finals match on Oct.28 at Saint Francis University. The Lady Raiders fell to Hollidaysburg 8-0 in the Raider Classic Tournament on Aug.31.
In AAAA, the Lady Little Lions are set to battle Altoona on Oct. 29 for the district championship. Altoona defeated State College earlier in the season, 4-1.
BOYS
Bald Eagle Area, a fourth seed, is scheduled to host Juniata at Alumni Stadium in Wingate on Oct. 24 in the AA bracket. The teams spit its two regular season matchups. BEA won the first contest, 1-0, but was defeated 5-0 in the rematch.
The winner will move on to face the winner of Westmont Hilltop and Cambria Heights.
Penns Valley earned a seventh seed in the AA bracket and was scheduled to play the No. 2 seeded Bearcats of Huntingdon in a first-round game on Oct. 23. The Bearcats defeated the Eagles 4-1 during the regular season.
State College and Altoona will square off in the AAAA final on Oct. 29. The Little Lions defeated the Mountain Lions 7-0 earlier this season.
