Pedestrian Injured in State College Hit-and-Run Crash

State College police are searching for the driver and vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash that resulted in a pedestrian being injured and taken to the hospital.

Police said the crash happened at about 6:15 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of Atherton Street and West College Avenue. A silver Dodge SUV traveling southbound on North Atherton Street struck a 28-year-old borough resident who was crossing eastbound in the south crosswalk on West College Avenue.

Centre LifeLink EMS transported the pedestrian to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment. The extent of the injuries was not made available.

The driver of the SUV was described by witnesses as a white male with a beard.

The passenger front corner and front corner panel of the vehicle may have damage from the crash, police said.
