Having invited nine quarterbacks to Penn State’s Junior Day this past weekend, Bill O’Brien is leaving no stone unturned as he looks for the right quarterback to play in his system.

While Ashburn, Va., Stone Bridge’s Ryan Burns, and Fork Union, Va., Military Academy’s Christian Hackenberg are currently the only quarterbacks with scholarship offers from Penn State, the Nittany Lion coaching staff is still keeping an eye on Norristown, PA’s Brandon Bossard who visited Penn State last Saturday.

“My visit was great,” Bossard said. The 6-foot-2, 190 pound junior said. “I loved everything I saw. I liked what Coach O’Brien had to say and given the opportunity I would love to learn football from Coach O’Brien.”

Among the other quarterbacks on hand for Penn State’s Junior Day, were Brookfield, Conn.’s Boeing Brown, Plantation, Fla.’s Tyler Cogswell, Mentor, Ohio’s Mitch Trubisky, McKeesport’s Ed Stockett, Erie Cathedral Prep’s Damion Terry, and Philadelphia’s Mike Keir.

Bossard hasn’t received an offer from Bill O’Brien and his staff yet, but early in the recruiting process Bossard is just looking to prove himself in front of as many coaches as he can.

Miami (Fl), Penn State, and Temple are currently the only schools showing interest in Bossard but that number is expected to grow as his recruitment continues.

“Recruiting is going well,” Bossard said. “I’m just visiting schools and planning out when I can throw in front of the coaches. I can see myself picking early senior year.”
