Freezing rain could make for slippery travel conditions on Tuesday in Centre County.

The National Weather Service at State College has issued a winter weather advisory from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday for portions of central Pennsylvania, including Centre County. Freezing rain is expected with the possibility of sleet mixed in at the onset.

A glaze of ice accumulation is forecasted, with little or no snow.

“Plan on slippery road conditions,” according to the advisory. “The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.”

AccuWeather and the NWS both anticipate precipitation in Centre County will change over to rain in the late morning on Tuesday.

“Roads and sidewalks can be icy and dangerous despite air temperatures above freezing,” according to AccuWeather.

Centre County Court will be operating on a delayed schedule on Tuesday, according to court administration. The courthouse and all court offices will open at noon.
