Centre County Adds 21 COVID-19 Cases; Pennsylvania Reports 3,133 New Positives

Centre County reported 21 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday to bring its total to 16,432, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Pennsylvania added 3,133 positives for a statewide total of 1,161,619.

The county also also had 76 additional negative test results to increase its total to 68,167. Across Pennsylvania, there were 9,379 new negatives for a total of 4,422,407.

Mount Nittany Medical Center is treating 17 COVID-19 inpatients, four fewer than on Monday. The patients range in age from 35 to 93. According to DOH’s hospital preparedness dashboard, three COVID-19 patients in Centre County are in intensive care and two are on ventilators.

Statewide, Pennsylvania has 2,172 COVID-19 inpatients, an increase of 21 since Monday, with 480 patients in intensive care [-4] and 263 on ventilators [+2].

DOH reported no new deaths attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, keeping the county’s total at 220.

With 58 new COVID-19 deaths reported statewide, Pennsylvania’s total is now 26,334.

An estimated 89% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, per a health department calculation.

As of Tuesday morning, 53,030 people in Centre County are fully vaccinated and 19,898 are partially covered.

Among Pennsylvania’s cases, 977,457 are confirmed and 184,162 are probable. In Centre County, 14,978 are confirmed and 1,454 are probable.
