Centre County Adds 75 COVID-19 Cases; Pennsylvania Reports 3,345

Centre County reported 75 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday to bring its total to 12,469, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Pennsylvania added 3,345 cases, bringing the statewide total to 905,995.

The county also had 209 additional negative test results, increasing its total to 59,987. Across Pennsylvania there were 8,895 new negatives for a total of 3,799,916.

DOH reported no new deaths attributed to the virus among Centre County residents for the third consecutive day, keeping the county’s total at 206.

With 94 new COVID-19 deaths reported statewide on Thursday, Pennsylvania’s total is now 23,413.

Mount Nittany Medical Center is treating 13 COVID-19 inpatients ranging in age from 25 to 85, unchanged from Wednesday.

Statewide COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to decline, with 2,124 COVID-19 patients hospitalized, including 467 in intensive care and 255 on ventilators, across Pennsylvania as of Thursday morning.

Nursing and personal care homes in Centre County reported five new COVID-19 case among residents. A total of 17 long-term care facilities in the county have had a combined 683 resident cases, 146 employee cases and 157 resident deaths.

An estimated 88% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, per a health department calculation.

A total of 20,745 people in Centre County have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, including 4,909 who are fully covered with both required doses, according to health department data.

Among Pennsylvania’s total cases, 781,888 are confirmed and 124,107 are probable. In Centre County, 11,531 are confirmed and 938 are probable.
