Centre County reported 78 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday to bring its total to 15,003, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Pennsylvania added 4,643 positives, bringing the statewide total to 1,054,298.
The county also had 57 additional negative test results, increasing its total to 65,516. Across Pennsylvania, there were 7,877 new negatives for a total of 4,191,314.
DOH reported no new deaths attributed to the virus among Centre County residents for the 32nd consecutive day, keeping the total at 213.
With 48 new COVID-19 deaths reported statewide, Pennsylvania’s total is 25,285.
According to DOH’s hospital preparedness dashboard, which includes Mount Nittany Medical Center and rehabilitation hospitals, 20 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in Centre County as of Wednesday morning.
Statewide hospitalizations continue to rise. Across Pennsylvania 2,425 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, including 484 in intensive care and 231 on ventilators.
An estimated 90% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, per a health department calculation.
A total of 49,360 people in Centre County are at least partially covered by the COVID-19 vaccine. The total includes 30,394 who are fully covered, either through the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine or both required doses of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, according to health department data.
Among Pennsylvania’s cases, 895,121 are confirmed and 159,177 are probable. In Centre County, 13,677 are confirmed and 1,326 are probable.
