STATE COLLEGE — The American Association of University Women, a nationwide women’s advocacy network that promotes gender equity and education for women and girls, has opened applications for the 2025 AAUW State College scholarships.
“The purpose of the scholarships is to support women who have interrupted their undergraduate studies for at least two years and who now wish to resume their studies,” a release from the State College AAUW chapter shared.
The scholarships will be distributed to approximately four recipients, according to the release, and will range from $3,000 to $7,000. Scholarships will be given based on financial need and recipients circumstances.
To apply, visit the Community Outreach page on aauwstatecollege.org. Applications will remain open until Monday, March 31.
One way that AAUW raises funds is through its Used Book Sale at the Penn State Snider Ag Arena. The 2025 sale will be from May 17, through May 20.
Donations for the sale can be made anytime throughout the day at 2197 High Teach Road. Blue bins are available outside of the workshop for drop-offs and the workshop is staffed from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.
“Your books help raise funds for local grants and scholarships,” a statement from AAUW shared.
