WINGATE — Bald Eagle Area’s Savanna Albright scored four goals, including two of the first three goals, and assisted on another as the Lady Eagles rolled to a 12-0 win over Penns Valley on Sept. 15 at Alumni Stadium.

The Lady Eagles (4-2-1) also earned a 1-0 win over Huntingdon on Sept. 17 at home and a 5-1 victory over Moshannon Valley on Sept. 19 at home.

After Raegan Correll scored the first goal against the Lady Rams (0-4) off of an assist from Addison Tice at 5:48, Albright scored her first goal less than a minute later off of a feed from Emma Collins. Albright took a pass from Abby Hacker and scored again 24 seconds later.

Nola Briscoe and Hacker scored two goals. Tice, Natalie Michaels, McKenzie Harbold and Elena Wagner also scored goals. BEA outshot PV, 25-1. BEA goalkeeper Cami Walker only had to make one save.

“What a great offensive showing tonight,” BEA coach Jared Moore said. “Savanna Albright was outstanding, scoring four goals and an assist. Nola Briscoe was all over the place creating chances with two assists and adding a goal as well. I liked how we pressed and moved the ball tonight. We created a ton of scoring opportunities and the girls cashed in on a lot of them.”

Briscoe scored the only goal of the game against Huntingdon at 7:17 on a free kick from 35 yards out. Walker made six saves, while Huntingdon’s Avery Phillips stopped five shots.

“Cami Walker made a really clutch double save on a corner, punching the first ball away and then making a full extension diving save on the follow-up shot,” Moore said. “This was a good character-building game. To know that you can win a tight game does a lot for a team. I am very proud of them.”

BEA’s Maddy Jones scored the first goal against Mo Valley 5:55 into the game off an assist from Hacker. Forty seconds later, Mo Valley’s Brylee London scored.

The score remained 1-1 until Collins got a feed from Tice to boot in a goal at 47:34. Tice then scored an unassisted goal at 50:40. Tice fed Albright less than a minute later and Albright finished with a goal. Kendall Smith scored an unassisted goal at 54:12.

Walker made six saves, while Smith stood out on defense.

“On defense, Kendall Smith had herself a game,” Moore said. “She was lights out on defense and marked one of their best forwards. She shut her down all game. It was an outstanding effort.”

BELLEFONTE GIRLS

The Bellefonte girls team battled returning District 6 Class A champion and PIAA state runner-up Bishop Guilfoyle to a 1-1 tie on Sept. 15 at home.

The Lady Red Raiders (2-0-1) scored first in the first half on a Sydney Miller unassisted goal. BG (4-0-1) responded in the second half with a goal from Meggie Ritchey off of an assist from Emma Marasco.

Bellefonte goalkeeper Ronni Spotts made 10 saves, while BG keeper CeCe Rumfola stopped six shots.

STATE COLLEGE GIRLS

The State College girls hung with Central Dauphin on the road before falling, 2-1, on Sept. 17.

The Little Lady Lions took the first lead on a goal by Ayda Bayly off of an assist from Natalia Andrews. Central Dauphin’s Kiera Flanagan scored on a penalty kick to tie the score. Teammate Olivia Prinz scored the go-ahead goal off of a feed from Maddie Long.

“We pressured them a couple of times in the second half,” State College coach Kent Dwyer said, “but CD held on to win 2-1.”

PHILIPSBURG-OSCEOLA GIRLS

The Philipsburg-Osceola girls team lost at Huntingdon, 11-0, on Sept. 15 to drop to 0-4.

BELLEFONTE BOYS

The Bellefonte boys team went 2-1 in its three recent games, beating Bishop Guilfoyle, 4-1, on Sept. 14 at home and Central, 3-1, in the rain on Sept. 21. The Red Raiders lost their first game at Hollidaysburg, 3-2, on Sept. 16.

Bellefonte (4-1)), which outshot Central 20-4, got three goals from Seth Catan, including two in the first half. Cole Stabinger assisted on Catan’s first goal at 29:35. Jacob Heston scored for the Scarlet Dragons at 35:10.

“It was a very rainy slippery game,” Bellefonte coach Scott Martz said. “Give Central credit. They came to play. They were very scrappy and made everything tough on us. We had a lot of good shots on goal and their goalkeeper played an outstanding game making some great stops. We did what we needed to do to finish the game.”

Bellefonte’s Jamin Ondrasik tied the score, 1-1, against Hollidaysburg when he scored at 21:23 of the first half off of an assist from Catan. Hollidaysburg’s Devin Walters scored his second and third goals, respectively, of the first half. Keegan Timblin scored for the Red Raiders at 46:21, but that was the last goal of the game.

The Little Lions were 4-3-2.

BALD EAGLE AREA BOYS

The Bald Eagle Area boys team (4-2-2) had to settle for a 3-3 tie at Clearfield on Sept. 21 in the rain after suffering a 5-2 setback at Huntingdon on Sept. 16.

BEA jumped out to a 3-0 lead on Clearfield, getting a goal from Easton Grimes off an assist from Kyle Uberti in the first 8 minutes. Parker Dubbs then scored on a penalty kick before Braxton Henninger scored off of a feed from Dubbs.

Clearfield’s Tucker Scott scored the final three goals. BEA goalkeeper Tanner Pierce had 13 saves.

“We started the game on fire,” BEA coach Jason Bair said. “I wish we could have won the game, but we played a really, really tough Clearfield team tonight, and we will take the tie even though we would prefer to have a win.

“When the game was done every player or our team was exhausted and soaked. They gave me everything they had. We just couldn’t pull out the victory tonight.”

The Eagles were getting shut out until Grimes scored two goals in the final 20 minutes of the game. Dubbs assisted on both goals, one on a throw-in and the second on a corner kick that Grimes finished with a header.

Ajay Kowalski scored three of Huntingdon’s goals.

PENNS VALLEY BOYS

The Penns Valley boys team captured its first win of the season in a 7-0 romp over Bishop McCort on Sept. 16 at home. No details were available.

PHILIPSBURG-OSCEOLA BOYS

The Philipsburg-Osceola boys team was competitive in a 5-2 loss at Central on Sept. 16.

The Mounties (0-6) actually had a 2-1 lead after 37 minutes thanks to Cale McDowell goal off of an assist from Jacob Pelesky and a Damian Vaughn penalty kick.

But Central’s Ben McIntire scored three goals from there.
