Applications are being accepted for the Central PA Festival of the Arts Images 2025 Exhibition

STATE COLLEGE —The Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts has started to accept entries for its juried fine exhibitions. “Images 2025” will run for the month of July at the Schlow Centre Region Library in State College.

They are accepting 2D media that includes:

  • Drawings
  • Paintings
  • Pastels
  • Mixed media
  • Photography
  • Hand-pulled prints
  • Watercolors
  • Fiber
  • Paper art
  • Digital arts

There are a few requirements for people interested in submitting. The first is you must be 16 years old or older. Submissions must also come from artists located in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Along with this, the images must be original and must have been produced after Jan. 1, 2022.

On arts-festival.com/images-juried you can find the submissions page. There, you can find pieces from Images 2024.

The juror for Images 2025, Richard Reinhart, will be awarding the following:

  • Best of Show (prize of $500)
  • Best Painting (prize of $200)
  • Best Pastel (prize of $200)
  • Best Photograph (prize of $200)
  • Four merit awards (prize of $150 each)
  • Best Student Submission (prize of $100)

Reinhart is a seasoned artist. He has been the director of the Samek Art Museum at Bucknell University. He has also served as the Digital Media Director and Adjunct Curator at the UC Berkeley Art Museum at New Langton Arts and for the San Jose Arts Commission.

He has also juried for the Rockefeller Foundation and Rhizome.org. He has taught courses on art and new media at UC Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz, the San Francisco Art Institute and more.

Submissions for the Images 2025 Exhibition close on Friday, May 9.

In 2024, Nasir Young of Willow Grove was awarded the Images 2024 Best of Show for the oil painting “Double Parked.” The award was sponsored by the Chamber of Business and Industry of Centre County.

“Pennsylvania has such a rich diversity of artists, and the Images Exhibition is a great display of what we have to offer the world,” Nasir said in a statement.

The 2025 Images Exhibition is just one of the many available to view at the 59th Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts. The 2025 festival will be held Wednesday, July 9 through Sunday, July 13.

The Arts Festival receives funding through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. The organization is a state agency funded by the Commonwealth. Additional grant support is provided through the Happy Vally Adventure Bureau and the Centre County Board of Commissioners.

“The Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts looks forward to showcasing the talent and creativity of Pennsylvania’s artists and encourages all to apply,” The festival shared in a press release.
