BELLEFONTE — Axemann Brewery in Bellefonte recently announced the promotions of two team members to management positions at the brewery at 2042 Axemann Road.

Melanie “Mel” Kip is Axemann’s new Events Coordinator, where she will take of scheduling and logistics for group rentals and other special events.

Kipp has been a bartender and an assistant manager at Axemann for more than three years and has about 11 years of industry experience in Centre County. Kipp is also a Penn State alum.

“This role is crucial to the success of Axemann, where multiple events may happen simultaneously in the 27,000 square foot space that includes a first floor taproom and game area, plus a second floor loft with outdoor deck as well as brewing operations,” the brewery outlined in a press release.

“Mel has proven extremely proficient in coordinating events of all kinds, from birthday parties to company meetings to weddings, while maintaining a strong focus on customer service to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for all guests.”

Axemann went on to explain that Kipp has been working with local businesses and entrepreneurs to expand the brewery’s events both weekly and monthly. She’s currently working on bringing in more opportunities for customers to get involved with music, crafts, science, games and more.

Brett Michael is stepping into the role of Taproom manager after working as a bartender and an assistant manager for Axemann since October 2021.

A Penn State grad from the class of 2008, Michael has more than 30 years of experience serving customers in the Centre County area. The decades of experience make Michael a good fit for the role of Taproom Manager as he brings his skills involving managing staff, inventory, scheduling and overall making sure everything is operating smoothly.

“Having a Taproom Manager familiar with the industry and the local culture is crucial for understanding customer preferences and creating a welcoming atmosphere, and we are fortunate that Brett has accepted this responsibility,” the press release concluded.
