BELLEFONTE — Morgan Besecker will represent Bellefonte Area High School at the Future Business Leaders of America National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida, at the end of June. Besecker earned the opportunity after herself and her team finished second at the State Leadership Conference in Hershey in April in Banking and Financial Systems.

The FBLA National Leadership Conference is an annual event that brings together students, educators and business professionals from across the United States. During the conference, students have the opportunity to compete in different business-related events and take part in workshops and leadership activities.

To help offset the costs of the conference, the Bellefonte Kiwanis Club and Bellefonte Education Foundation, alongside other contributors, announced that they joined together to cover the cost of Besecker’s attendance at the conference.

“Recognizing the importance of supporting youth in their educational endeavors, the Bellefonte Kiwanis Club and the Bellefonte Education Foundation, along with other community partners, have stepped up to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder Morgan’s chance to shine at the FBLA Nationals,” a press release announcing the financial commitment shared.

The goal of the funding is to help cover the cost of travel, accommodation and registration fees.

“The collaborative efforts of these local organizations and other community stakeholders highlights the power of collective action in empowering youth and investing in their future success,” the release said.
