BELLEFONTE — On Friday, Oct. 11, the Bald Eagle Area athletic department celebrated the career of retiring head baseball coach Jim Gardner.
With a ceremony prior to the Bald Eagle Area, Greater Johnstown game, the BEA community commended Gardner’s outstanding 22-year career as the school’s head baseball coach.
Beginning in the 2002 season, Gardner amassed 280 wins for the Eagles that included five Mountain League championships, four District 6 championships and three PIAA, 2A championships.
In the past two seasons, Bald Eagle Area compiled a combined record of 46-6 and won two D6 titles and two PIAA championships.
Gardner was presented with a large plaque highlighting the big events in his long career at BEA. The plaque was created by Bald Eagle Area woodshop teacher Andy Markle.
