STATE COLLEGE — On Friday, Oct. 18, the Beaver Stadium revitalization project received a $5 million gift.
The gift came from Frank and Jennifer Marzano, a family with deep ties to Penn State.
Frank graduated in 1994 with a degree in accounting, and his kids are now following his footsteps. Jiana Marzano graduated with a degree in accounting and is pursuing her master’s in accounting. While Frank Jr. attended the Schreyer Honors College graduating with a degree in economics and a master’s degree in accounting.
The Marzano’s third child, Angelina, also attends Penn State and is currently a freshman.
“Our family’s connection to Penn State runs deep and we take immense pride in contributing to this transformational project,” said Frank. “Beaver Stadium is very special to our family and has been a place we have gathered for years to celebrate the rich history and traditions Penn State has to offer. This project is not just an investment in infrastructure; it’s an investment in the future of Penn State, in the memories and experiences that will last a lifetime, and in ensuring that the legacy of our athletics department continues to thrive.
To recognize Marzano’s generous gift, the West sideline’s primary club will be named the Marzano Club.
The club will be the center of campus and community activities on non-game days as well as offer a unique game day experience.
“We are incredibly appreciative of Frank and Jenn for their generous gift to our Beaver Stadium revitalization project,” said Patrick Kraft, vice president for Intercollegiate Athletics. “The Marzanos are a Penn State family through and through and have strong roots in our Happy Valley community. They understand the importance of Beaver Stadium and the impact it will have on our student-athletes, alumni and fans as one of the premier venue for years to come.”
The Beaver Stadium revitalization project was officially approved by the board of trustees in May 2024. The $700 million renovations will focus on upgrading the fan experience and improve the revenue-generating opportunities of the stadium.
The approved renovations will enable year-round use of Beaver Stadium.
Earlier this month the project received its final green light when the College Township Council voted unanimously to approve the project’s final land development plan.
Penn State officials said no tuition or tax dollars will be used to finance the project. It will be paid in full through university-backed debt to be paid by the athletic department and donations.
