BELLEFONTE ELKS DONATE TO UNION CEMETERY

Centre County Gazette

Bellefonte Elks Lodge 1094, through its Garver Fund, has once again chosen to support the Bellefonte Union Cemetery by contributing $2,000 to assist with maintenance costs for this historic resting place for many Centre County dignitaries. Covering over 2,000 acres, this cemetery is the final resting place of three Pennsylvania governors, several Penn State University founders, and the grandfather of The Mills Brothers singing group.  The cemetery was established in 1808 and chartered in 1856.  Pictured from left are Elks PER and Trustee Terree Michel, Elks Exalted Ruler Lorna Spearly, Union Cemetery Treasurer Connie Cole, Union Cemetery President Kevin Corman, and Elks Trustee Cathy Hoffman.
