BELLEFONTE — The streets of Bellefonte will be filled with live music on Friday, June 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. The Bellefonte Historical and Cultural Association has hired two individual musicians and one duo to perform then in downtown Bellefonte.
“The Bellefonte Historical and Cultural Association is doing its best to make Bellefonte more interesting. One way to help our small, charming town emulate a big city is by populating downtown streets with busking musicians,” shared BHCA President Joseph Griffin in a statement.
Performances will include:
- Elijah Snyder, who the BHCA noted is “an up-and-coming saxophone phenomenon”
- The Stevedores, a duo comprised of Steven Buckalew on mandolin and fiddle and Steve Crawford on guitar
- Ken Baxter, a solo artist who performs with vocals and guitar
The free musical performances will take place along South Allegheny Street between High Street and Bishop Street; one performance will be put on near the newest addition to Bellefonte, a mural designed to celebrate Bellefonte’s significance as a stop along the National Air Mail route during the early years of U.S. transcontinental mail, in the Spring Street parking lot.
“Where else in Centre County can you hear four music acts in an hour by just walking around,” Griffin wrote in the statement. “Come wander down Allegheny St. this Friday and bring some folding money to encourage our buskers.”
