UNIVERSITY PARK — Bellefonte sophomore Bailee Scott captured the 155-pound title in 15-16 girls age group in the Keystone State Championships on March 14 at the Bryce Jordan Center.
The top-seeded Scott, a state qualifier in the high school season, rolled up a 15-0 technical fall over Hamburg’s Daisy Nemes in 2:57 the finals. Scott went 3-0 with two falls and the technical fall.
Bellefonte’s Ella Johnsonbaugh placed seventh at 142 in the same division. Bellefonte’s Carly Bair finished eighth at 124.
In the girls 11-12 age group, State College’s Sterling Cunningham won the 100-pound title with a 16-1 technical fall over Mount Lebanon’s Zoe Fabyonic in 2:28.
Bald Eagle Area’s Hailey Struble claimed the 115-pound title in the same division with a 14-8 overtime decision over Muhlenburg’s Amia Estela.
State College’s Margo Garis was a runner-up at 95 in the same division, losing 9-0 to Abington Heights’ Piper Full in the finals.
State College’s Ruby Garis (75) placed third in the 11-12 group, while Bald Eagle Area’s Abilene Letterman (90) was sixth. Bellefonte’s Harper Matis (125) placed seventh.
In the girls 6 and under age group, Bald Eagle Area’s Maci Snyder won a state title at 50 pounds, earning a 12-0 win over Hamburg’s Ottilia Adams. BEA’s Wesly Wolanski (40) placed third.
In the boys 13-14 age group, State College’s Nathan Kasak finished second at 103, dropping a 4-3 decision to Altoona’s Nate Picciotti. Penns Valley’s Jameson Shawver was a runner-up at 110 to Jersey Shore’s Joey Miller, who won, 8-0.
State College’s Gavin Campbell finished third at 212. Penns Valley’s Dominik Coleman (110) and Parker Nye (192) and State College’s Scott Young (124) placed seventh. Bald Eagle Area’s Kellan Woodring (117) finished eighth.
In the boys 11-12 age group, Philipsburg-Osceola’s J.T. Oppel (200) placed fifth. P-O’s Lee Clark (70) finished seventh.
State College’s Colin Garis (70) finished fifth in the boys 9-10 group.
Bellefonte’s Eden Gall (108) placed sixth in the girls 9-10 group. Penns Valley’s Annabelle Battista (73) placed eighth.
Penns Valley’s Boyd Pick (45) placed fifth in the boys 7-8 age group.
BEA’s Perry Wolanski (55) finished third in the girls 7-8 group. State College’s Hazel Hoy (50) placed fifth, while BEA’s Adelyn Bogert (60) was sixth.
