STATE COLLEGE — Centre Area Transportation Authority’s Fall service changes went into effect on Monday, Aug. 17 in conjunction with the commencement of full service. CATA makes annual service changes to better align resources with community needs, based on feedback from our riders.

Campus Service Enhancements
Additional White Loop service will be available Monday through Thursday during full service, with buses arriving as often as every 5 minutes from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Red Link will no longer operate on weekends, and the Blue Loop service will be reduced on Sunday.

Finals Week Service Enhancements
Additional Red Link trips will be available Monday and Tuesday during Penn State’s finals weeks, along with increased service on key community corridors to meet higher demand. These changes will start during finals week, December 2026.

H (Toftrees) Route Updates
The H route will return to a 40-minute frequency. Service at Mount Nittany Health Toftrees will shift to the microtransit CATAGO! service for more reliable coverage.

Labor Day Service
CATA will begin operating on Labor Day (Sep. 7), expanding travel options for riders attending community and social events. CATA will operate on the Reduced Service schedule.

NV Route changes
To provide better coverage, the NV route will follow Bigler Road, Pollock Road, and Shortlidge Road on Penn State campus, and will no longer follow University Drive.

CC (College Avenue) changes
CC will provide direct service to the Happy Valley Casino as a pilot. The E Mall Entrance stop (1012) will be discontinued and the ALDI Stop (32) will be moved.

RC (Waupelani Dr./Campus) changes
To improve service reliability in the Waupelani Drive/S. Atherton area, the RC route will no longer be available outbound (leaving campus) before 10:30 a.m. You may use the R route instead. Inbound services will not be affected.

Riders are encouraged to consult up-to-date schedules on CATA’s website or trip planning apps such as the myStop app and Google maps before they ride.
