STATE COLLEGE — A car-motorcycle crash on Monday, Aug. 26, left a 22-year-old Centre County man dead, borough police said on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
The crash occurred when a 73-year-old man driving a Toyota Prius turned left from College Avenue toward Struble Road, colliding with the motorcyclist, around 4:30 p.m., according to borough police.
As a result of the impact, the motorcyclist was ejected from his bike. He was then flown to UPMC Altoona by medevac helicopter. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Centre LifeLink EMS, Alpha Fire Company and the Centre County Accident Reconstruction Team assisted at the scene.
The driver of the Prius was treated at the scene for minor injuries. Though police noted that an investigation into the crash is ongoing, substance use was not believed to have impacted the accident.
