STATE COLLEGE — There is something for everyone when it comes to Centre Volunteers in Medicine’s (CVIM) events. Do you enjoy playing a game of cornhole or trivia with your friends? Or being outside on a bike or in a pair of sneakers?
The Centre County Cornhole Classic takes place just as the weather warms up. This event is great for all ages and skill types. Get your friends, family and coworkers together for a few hours of competitive fun at the University Wine Company on Saturday, May 21.
The Central Cycling Classic is celebrating its 14th year. Event attendees can challenge themselves and raise funds virtually through June or pedal their way through scenic routes with fellow cyclists at the live event on Saturday, June 25, starting at the Pine Grove Mills VFW.
The Run for CVIM Challenge consists of local runners who take their love for running beyond the track and raise money to help others in the community, especially those at CVIM. If you are committed to running and bringing awareness and support to help those in our community, this event is for you.
The Walk the Walk for Breast Health is a great way to get your steps in throughout the month of August. Set your own goals and share your personal fundraiser link to raise funds for CVIM’s free early detection-testing program.
Battle of the Minds, hosted by CVIM and State College Rotary Club, has been CVIM’s signature annual event since 2007. Join us for a night of “fun’draising” at our gala dinner with a twist. Tables compete against each other in a professionally produced interactive trivia game on Wednesday, Oct. 12.
Since 1984, the Nittany Valley Half-Marathon has blossomed into one of the region’s most popular road races, drawing several hundred runners each year. The 13.1-mile course begins and ends on the Penn State campus, touring through rolling countryside, along scenic Spring Creek and through quaint Houserville. This year’s event will take place on Sunday, Dec. 4.
Centre Volunteers in Medicine is the only free clinic in Centre County providing medical, dental, behavioral health, case management and prescription services to low-income and uninsured community members. CVIM relies on donations from the community to provide quality healthcare. In addition to direct donations, community members can support CVIM by attending events that take place throughout the year.
