CENTRE HALL — The holidays arrive in full force in Centre Hall Dec. 9 through Dec. 11 with the community’s annual Christmas in Centre Hall 2022 event. Gospel choirs, brunch, a Santa Claus gift distribution, Christmas dinners and more are on the schedule as there’s a little bit of something for everyone. The schedule is as follows:
DEC. 9
7 p.m. — Christmas tree lighting ceremony at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 301 N. Pennsylvania Ave. 7:30 p.m. — Family Movie Night at Progress Grange 96 at 217 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Doors open at 7 p.m.
DEC. 10
8 to 11 a.m. — Breakfast buffet at The Express Casual Dining, 104 E. Wilson St. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. — A vintage sleigh will be parked by The Express Casual Dining for taking photos. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. — kids crafts, cookie decorating and pictures with Santa’s elves in the basement at Grace United Methodist Church. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Story reading to kids by state Rep. Kerry Benninghoff, 2022 Centre County Grange Fair Queen Ella Smith and 2022 Centre County Dairy Princess Bailey Little. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Open house for Penns Valley Diaper Depot and Penns Valley Emergency Shelter at 108 N. Pennsylvania Ave., next to Trinity United Church of Christ. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Horse and carriage rides in town. Location to be announced. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. — Merry wine tasting with Juniata Valley Wines, located in Express Casual Dining, 104 E. Wilson St. Ages 21+ only. 2 p.m. — Chiz Rider in concert at Trinity United Church of Christ at 104 N. Pennsylvania Ave. A free will offering will be taken. 3 to 5 p.m. — Outdoor live interactive nativity at Grace United Church of Christ, 127 S. Pennsylvania Ave.
DEC. 11
9 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Brunch buffet at The Express Casual Dining, 104 E. Wilson St. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. — A vintage sleigh will be parked by The Express Casual Dining for taking photos. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. — Merry wine tasting with Juniata Valley Wines, located in Express Casual Dining, 104 E. Wilson St. Ages 21+ only. 3 p.m. — Penns Valley Men’s Choir in concert at Trinity United Church of Christ, 104 N. Pennsylvania Ave. 6 p.m. — Christmas caroling in Centre Hall Borough. All singers welcome. Meet at Trinity United Church of Christ, 104 N. Pennsylvania Ave. In addition, 2022 Centre Hall Community hand-painted ornaments will be on sale for $5 each while supplies last.
