African American Storytelling with Momma Pam Pam — Saturday, Feb. 3
Schlow Centre Region Library in State College is inviting guests to celebrate Black History Month with storyteller Momma Pam Pam. The event is at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb.3, at the library. Momma Pam Pam’s animal stories with rain sticks will delight the whole family. The free evet is recommended for ages 2 to 6, but everyone is welcome to join.

First Sunday Ukulele Jam — Sunday, Feb. 4
Ukulele players of all ages and skill levels are invited to a two-hour jam from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Nittany Mall Community Room in State College on Sunday, Feb. 4. Hosted by Allegheny Ukulele, the first half hour will be geared towards new and beginner players. There will also be ukuleles available to use if you don’t own one.

Ballroom Dance — Sunday, Feb. 4
There will be a ballroom dance from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4, at Lambert Hall in Bellefonte. There will be a hustle lesson from 2 to 2:30 p.m., with ballroom dancing to follow. Admission is $10 and guests are asked to bring a snack to share.

The Bellefonte Sunday Afternoon Chamber Music Series will present the Gabriel Herrera Jazz Quartet at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Bellefonte. The free event sponsored by the Bellefonte Historical and Cultural Society is open to the public.

Welcome Event Dance Party — Sunday, Feb. 4
The community is invited to join in welcoming the “Underscored” artists and dancers at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4, in the Community Room of the State College Municipal building. Penn State dance ensembles will lead the event with performances, followed by comments from the artists and a dance party with a DJ and light refreshments.

Film Screening of ‘Check Your Body at the Door’ — Monday, Feb. 5
There will be a film screening of “Check Your Body at the Door” at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 5, at the HUB-Robeson Center in Freeman Auditorium at the University Park campus. The film is about underground house dancers and dancing in New York City’s golden decade, the 1990s. The documentary uses interviews and rare dance footage with legendary house dancers.

Tail Waggin’ Tutors — Tuesday, Feb. 6, and Thursday, Feb. 8
The Centre County Library in Bellefonte will have trained therapy dogs for children to read to from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 6, and Thursday, Feb. 8. The sessions are offered to help struggling and reluctant readers gain confidence. Those interested in attending can call 814-355-1516 to sign up for a 10-minute reading session.
