Preschool Open House at Our Lady of Victory
Our Lady of Victory Preschool, 810 Westerly Pkwy., State College, will be holding an open house on Jan. 15 at 4:30 p.m. Children are welcome to attend. Child Development Screenings
Certified therapists from local early intervention agencies will be available from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Schlow Centre Region Library, 211 S. Allen St., State College for free child development screenings. Screenings are for ages newborn to 5 years and will be held in the Children’s Activity Room.

Contra Dance
The State College Friends School is co-hosting a family-friendly Contra Dance for the community from 3 to 6 p.m. at the school, 1900 University Drive, State College. Lessons for new dancers begin at 3 p.m. All dances are taught and easy to learn. A group of callers from the PGH Caller Collective (Min Davis, Donna Hetrick, and Eitan Greene) will call the dances to music by Callanish. Suggested donation is $15 to help cover the cost of the callers and musicians, and refreshments will be available. For more information, email statecollegecontradance@gmail.com.

Chamber Orchestra Concert
The Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra will present “Romantic Reflections” featuring Katherine Benson on piano at 3 p.m. at Penn State’s Recital Hall.
Hack Pack Adventures
Join CC4H Robotics from 2 to 4 p.m. at Schlow Centre Region Library, 211 S. Allen St., State College for a hands-on Hack Pack Adventure, where kids will explore Mark Rober’s new programmable robot kits and dive into the exciting world of STEM. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service
State Rep. Paul Takac is partnering with the State College YMCA, Centre County Pearls of PA, an official interest group of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.; and First National Bank to host the inaugural Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, A Legacy of Love: Serving with Purpose, Strengthening Families event on from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the State College YMCA, 677 W. Whitehall Rd., State College. The event will feature a complimentary lunch, arts and crafts, packing backpacks for the Anti-Hunger Backpack Program, and a financial literacy class sponsored by First National Bank from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. Registration is required for the financial literacy class at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSejsq_c-llkvqWa5EZ58HhsqQ0DwCYu3PlzG6YV2uUV6DXmWQ/viewform. No School Movie: Dog Man
Children and their families are invited to join us from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Centre County Library – Bellefonte, 200 North Allegheny St. for a No School Movie Day. We will be watching Dog Man, rated PG. There will be popcorn for everyone. Registration is not required.

Knit and crochet with other adult and teen crafters in the Philipsburg area at Holt Memorial Library, 17 N. Front St., Philipsburg from 5:30 to 7 p.m. All skill levels are welcome. There will not be a set project. Please bring what you are working on. No sign registration needed.
