Lion Mobile Clinic at St. Mark Lutheran Church — Friday, Sept. 22

The Lion Mobile Clinic, a free health clinic from Penn State’s College of Medicine, will be at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Snydertown, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22. The clinic will provide regular doses of flu shots, blood pressure screenings, medication counseling and more. No appointment is necessary, and no health insurance is required.

Downtown State College Farmers Market — Friday, Sept. 22

The Downtown State College Farmers Market will take place on Friday, Sept. 22, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Locust Lane. With farmers and vendors from all over Centre County, there will be food, plants, custom-made goods and more. The Downtown State College Farmers Market will be held every Friday until November.

OktoberFest — Friday, Sept. 22

OktoberFest will take place on Friday, Sept. 22, at 5:30 p.m. at Tussey Mountain Resort in Boalsburg. Guests are invited to celebrate the changing of the seasons with food, music and drink. There will be live performances from the Polka Brothers and the Bavarian Stompers.

Curtin United Methodist Church Fall Yard-N-Bake Sale — Friday, Sept. 22 & Saturday, Sept. 23

Curtin United Methodist Church is hosting its Fall Yard-N-Bake Sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23. The church is inviting guests to stop in and say hello, check out some bargains and grab a bite to eat. There will be baked goods, homemade soups, hot dogs and more.

Way Fruit Farm Fall Craft Show — Friday, Sept 22 & Saturday, Sept. 23

The Way Fruit Farm Fall Craft Show will take place on Friday, Sept. 22, from 4-7 p.m., and on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Way Fruit Farm will have 45 local crafters set up, food trucks, live music and more.

Constitution Day Democracy Roundtables — Saturday, Sept. 23

People of all perspectives, beliefs and backgrounds are invited to American Legion Post 245 from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 23, to listen and share their views on the theme “Making Our Voices Heard.” Groups will discuss three questions, and a local resident will be honored with the Madison Award for Civility in the Community. The event is supported by Constitution Day Centre Inc.

National Public Lands Day Volunteer Event — Saturday, Sept. 23

There will be a volunteer event at Bald Eagle State Park for National Public Lands Day from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 23. Possible tasks include light trail maintenance, pulling weeds, litter pickup and more. Registration is required.

Bellefonte Farmers Market — Saturday, Sept. 23

A wide variety of produce will be available for purchase at the Bellefonte Farmers Market every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through mid-November. The market takes place at the Gamble Mill parking lot in Bellefonte. There will be other goods to purchase such as honey, soaps, baked items and more.

Climate Change Lunch and Talk — Sunday, Sept. 24

Howard United Methodist Church is hosting a free lunch and discussion on climate change at noon on Sunday, Sept. 24, in Howard. There will be a free 20-minute talk by Brandi Robinson, a professor at Penn State and chair of the implementation and technical advisory group for the Centre Region’s Climate Action and Adaption Plan, followed by time for questions and lunch.

Pugh Street Shut Down will take place from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26. The event will close Pugh Street between Beaver and College avenues for vendors, creative organizations, musicians and local artists.

24th Ron and Mary Maxwell Community Spelling Bee — Wednesday, Sept. 27

The Mid-State Literacy Council is hosting the 24th Ron and Mary Maxwell Community Spelling Bee on Wednesday, Sept. 27, to raise funds for the organization’s adult literacy programs. The event will broadcast on C-NET from 6-8 p.m. Teams of three will compete live via Zoom.

Design a Book Brick — Thursday, Sept. 28

Guests are invited to paint a brick to look like their favorite book at Centre County Library and Historical Museum on Thursday, Sept 28. The event will run from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The program is recommended for teens and adults. Registration for the event is online.
