Soup Sale
There will be a Soup Sale at Howard United Methodist Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Available soups include vegetable beef, ham and bean, chicken corn and chicken noodle. Soups are $10 per quart. Meals include soup, salad, roll, pie and beverage. Call 814-625-2182 for more information.
Nature Sketching at Arboretum
Sketch your art out during this free drop-in class for adults from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Each class wraps up with an informal “salon,” during which participants share their artwork and what inspired them. All experience levels are welcome, from beginner to professional. Bring your own art materials and sketchbook, or use the Arboretum’s. The class will be held at H.O. Smith Botanic Gardens in The Arboretum at Penn State, East Park Avenue and Bigler Road, University Park.

PBS Kids Movies in the Park
Pack a picnic, grab your favorite people, and kick back at the park for an evening of games and fun! The Rec on the Go truck will roll in with lawn games galore. Event will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Tom Tudek Park, 400 Herman Drive, State College.
Movies Under the Stars: Wicked
Grab your blankets or chairs, bring your friends and family, and enjoy unforgettable nights under the open sky! Movies start at dusk in Sidney Friedman Park, 241 South Fraser St., State College. This family-friendly event is open to all. Admission to the movies is free. If weather impacts the view of the movie, the movie will either be rescheduled or moved inside to the Community Room in the Municipal Building at 243 South Allen St, State College.
Downtown State College Farmers Market
The Downtown State College Farmers Market is officially in full swing for the 2026 season. Seasonal veggies, local honey, or fresh-baked goods — everything at the market is grown or produced in Centre County by the people selling it. It is held on Locust Lane in State College from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Intoxicating Plants Walk
Discover the stories of the plants that humans (and other animals!) use as intoxicants during a guided walk led by Arboretum programs coordinator and plant nerd Rebecca Horwitt. Register for free on The Arboretum’s Programs & Events page for this Plant Walk.

Penns Valley Charity Partner Event
Liberty Eats will host Penns Valley Charity Partner Event supporting local nonprofits while bringing neighbors together for great food, fun, and community spirit at 2658 Earlystown Road, Centre Hall. Liberty Eats will donate $1 from every sandwich sold to a local nonprofit partner. The event will be held on from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 2 to 7 p.m. Games, music, and the opportunity for nonprofits to set up a table to sell crafts and yard sale goods/
Lemont Village Green Summer Concert
Lemont Village Green Summer Concert will be held at 133 Mt. Nittany Road, Lemont. This week’s concert features Tussey Mountain Moonshiners.Concert is held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Donations collected benefit the next project for granary restoration. The most recent work is finished, with the back exit bridge funding aided by a grant from the Happy Valley Adventure Bureau and Centre Gives donations. If there is light rain, the concert is on, but in cases of thunder and lightning, the concert will be moved to the Granary. Ice cream cones available from Scout Troop 367. Picnics welcome, bring lawn chairs or blankets.

Adult Book Fair
An Adult Book Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Milesburg Community Center, 101 Mill St., Milesburg. Spend the day surrounded by books, local authors, bookish vendors, unique finds, gifts, and plenty of things your TBR definitely doesn’t need…but you absolutely do.
Public Lands Day at Black Moshannon
Help beautify Black Moshannon State Park, 4216 Beaver Road, Philipsburg from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Projects include painting, trail maintenance, litter pickup, and debris removal. Lunch will be provided. Free camping is available that weekend for those who help from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Contact the Black Moshannon State Park Office at 814-342-5960 or email blackmoshannonee@pa.gov for the camping. All volunteers will need to sign up on the new system at: Become a Volunteer with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Conservation/Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. 2026 You Matter 5K Walk/Run/Ride
Pregnancy Resource Clinic will host their annual You Matter 5k Run/Walk and 15k Bike Ride at Grace Prep High School, 848 Science Park Rd. in State College starting at 7:45 a.m. Participants can participate in person or on their own. Runners will enjoy professional timing, and prizes will be awarded to the top fundraisers and finishers. Participants can pay a registration fee or gain sponsorship from friends and family for their participation. Contra Dance
The State College Friends School is co-hosting a family-friendly Contra Dance for the community from 6 to 9 p.m. at the school, 1900 University Drive, State College. Lessons for new dancers begin at 6 p.m.. All dances are taught and easy to learn. Bruce Young will call the dances to music by Strath Hanna, with John Collins on keyboard and Matt Carlson on fiddle. North Atherton Farmers Market
North Atherton Farmers Market is held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Home Depot parking lot, 2615 Green Tech Drive., State College. It is a producers-only market which requires that vendors sell only what they produce, grow or make.

All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast
Bellefonte Knights of Columbus will host an All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to noon at 315 Stoney Batter (up the hill from Dollar General). Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12, and free for children under 7. The menu includes orange juice, bacon, sausage, potatoes, eggs, French toast, pancakes, sausage gravy, hot syrup, peaches, waffles, coffee and hot chocolate. Breakfast includes specialty eggs and blueberry or chocolate chip pancakes made upon request. Eat in and take out is available.
International Day of Peace Prayer Vigil
This year’s theme, “Cultivating Peace: Relationships, Resources, and Reciprocity,” invites us to come together as neighbors, people of faith and conscience, and members of one community to pause, remember, and renew our commitment to peace. It will be held at 3 p.m. at University Baptist & Brethren Church, 411 S. Burrowes St., State College.
Concert on the Lawn at South Hills
South Hills School of Business & Technology will host its final event of the 2026 Music Picnic Series. Free entertainment will begin at 6 p.m. on the north lawn with Zeropoint Big Band. The concert will be held rain or shine at South Hills’ main campus located at 480 Waupelani Drive, State College. Everyone is encouraged to bring blankets and chairs. Grounds open at 4 p.m.; music starts at 6 p.m. and lasts until 7:30 p.m. Dogs on the Run hot dog cart will be on site for dogs and snacks. Free parking and restrooms are available.

Explorers Family Hike
Join childhood educators from the Arboretum for a guided exploration of the Arboretum’s wild areas at 10:30 a.m. The walk will depart from the Overlook Pavilion and proceed to Hartley Wood. Wear shoes suitable for rustic trails and dress for the weather. This program will be held rain or shine, but may be canceled without notice in the event of extreme weather. The program is free but registration is required. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is responsible for their supervision at all times. Please leave pets at home. This program is part of School’s OUTside! — Educational nature programming for youth and families on local school closure days. It will be held at H.O. Smith Botanic Gardens in The Arboretum at Penn State, East Park Avenue and Bigler Road, University Park.

Civil War Roundtable
This will be a joint meeting with the PSU Civil War Era Center, South Hills Business School, 480 Waupelani Drive, State College at 7 p.m. Featured speakers are Timothy J. Williams, Associate Professor Department of History, University of Oregon, and Mark and Ann Persun visiting scholars, Richards Civil War Era Center, Penn State. They will speak about “Assembling the South’s Lost Cause in Union Prisons.”
Boalsburg Farmers Market
The Boalsburg Farmers Market is held from 2 to 6 p.m. outdoors in the parking lot of The Pennsylvania Military Museum, 51 Boal Ave., Boalsburg. It is a “producers only” farmers market.
