SPRING TOWNSHIP — Centre County Coroner Scott A. Sayers reports that the two individuals who died in the structure fire on March 28 at 149 Mulbarger Lane in Spring Township have been positively identified through DNA analysis.
The victims have been identified as Melvin Emel, 79, and his sister, Evelyn Rees, 73. Both resided at the residence.
The cause of death for both individuals was determined to be smoke inhalation. The manner of death has been ruled accidental.
